It's fucking 1:32 AM

In a perfect world the Blog would have been updated much earlier.. I could lay a long list of excuses that would all be very rational, and perhaps comical in their own regard... but why do that when it is time to get down to business? I could look at my thumb that is black and blue from some savage maniac slash i took playing hockey earlier tonight (which was late) and say "oh boo fucking who me"... i just won't do it tonight... the kids will be up screaming soon and i have to pick my Mother-in-law up from the airport so i should get some rest. that is nonsense of course... if you say you are going to do something then do it, no matter how few dividends the result may seem to pay... completion of what you set out to do is what is important... to hell with the reviews... speaking of reviews:

OK... sorry i had to pump myself up.

I think it's fair to say the the Legion of Flying Monkeys Horn Orchestra put on a King Hell Show last week at the SRSS. Puppet show, Movie, smart songs, dialogues, art horn Jam with real horn player, ringer guitar player, ringer flute player, ringer piano player delivering lines reserved for absent horn player, 2 great drummers, custom suitcase drum kit solid backup horn orchestra... proper promotion, full house... a super Robertson supper show clinic for sure. Imagine if everybody put in that kind of effort for a SRSS? Why should they? The classic difference between a scene creator and a scene sucker. Some look to create and some look to attach and get "what's coming to them". It happens.

check this horn jam:

John Korsrud and Daniel Lunn and Fire-Man doing what I'm sure Fire-Man always dreamed of doing. That's the way to do it. At the same time i know Fire-Man's mission as a horn maker, or at least one of them is to have community involvement... "hey you, get up here and try this... lets make some noise, don't be afraid..." That has serious merit in terms of community and as they say "Participaction".
That said, most of us in the room had only ever heard the horns honked in spirit but when John Korsrud played it folks were like "holy shit that's great i have never heard those horns sound like that"... Kudos to Fire-Man for holding down and staying on the nice bass reverberations.

LFM opened up with one of my favourite LFM songs (brilliant lyrics)... perhaps I could tell the story one day but it's getting late... the story is in the song... but remember people don't listen to words... the new generation of music fans are looking for something they can immediately grab onto and turn to their friend and start talking about why it is cool. Bizarre... i actually talked to a friend who went to some "music marketing clinic" and apparently less then 10% of people even bother to listen to words anymore... which begs the question? What is it that you are getting out of listening to music? Sure i love groove, and I love melody, but what about the purpose of song? Is that just a casualty of the new world order? Will we elect a majority Conservative Government... I mean "Harper Government" because all of the other parties are like a group of carps fighting for the same piece of food, while they sit back and chip in when it benefits them? And then we are all fucked because we never listened and remembered. Perhaps i should start spouting insanity (ha ha), and run as an independent "Conservative" candidate in a specific riding... could call it "strategic running"... lost my mind... here is the song:

In fact my plan a few days ago was to turn this dog into a VLOG and cover that song and then give a newscast report on the song and the supper show... but I forgot it was spring Break, which means i am with kids, which means we spent the day going off the diving board at the pool. I should note i nailed a King Hell can opener to keep my status as crazy father who can make huge splashes alive and well.

What happens tomorrow at the SRSS? Eight piece girl band called Ginger and Moonshine... once again we are into double digits with respect to confirmed "facebook" (http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=208816215801747&index=1) attendance.... whatever the hell that means.
